 Platinumlinks Events Calendar is getting more and more popular, both with event organisers and visitors. With so many events, which ones do you attend? At the beginning of this month there were over 50 events on the calendar. 10 events for the month of May.
Spend your time wisely, choose the right event for you. I always think about what I want from each event. I plan before I attend and evaluate afterwards if it was a success. Most of the time it works.

 Tim Williams, chief executive of Thames Gateway London Partnership (TGLP) is leaving. Under Tim, TGLP has grown to become one of the most powerful lobbying organisations. TGLP has continually lobbied government for resources and has been instrumental in securing hundreds of millions of pounds for regeneration of the Thames Gateway area.
Tim is taking on the role of chief executive of a new Urban Regeneration Company (URC) in Cornwall. Good luck in your new role, Tim.

| I am constantly being asked by local businesses 'how do I get into supplying government departments or local authorities?' Its a huge market and its very competitive, but the greatest advantage is...you can find out what they want to buy and when. In most cases the process is fairly transparent although lengthy.
If you are not already supplying government departments or local authorities, this could provide you with a new set of clients and generate additional sales opportunities. So, how do you find out? There are many websites that provide information, some free, others by subscription.
You will also come across some government funded initiatives to help businesses into the supply chain. These include Meet the Buyer events and 'Fit to Supply' project. Start by contacting your local chamber or Business Link.
